Women 4 Women wins Art of Excellence in Vision Award Women 4 Women recently took home the Center for Nonprofit Excellence 2007 Pyramid Art of Excellence in Vision award, an award that is given to a non-profit organization that has developed a collective vision that inspired action, connected that vision to its mission and finally, demonstrated the community benefits of that mission. Previous winners of the award, which is sponsored by Chilton & Medley, include Habitat for Humanity, the Louisville Science Center and Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana. Women 4 Women Website is New and Improved Women 4 Women is excited to announce a major overhaul of our website. In addition to improvements in layout and organization, we are especially happy to introduce visitors to a couple of new features. Our new Resource Directory, the first of its kind in Louisville, is specifically designed to help women connect to the resources and services they need. Everything from educational information for aspiring businesswomen to shelters for women and children can be located on it. Also, we’ll soon have available our Coaching Network feature, which will provide information for our program participants and coaches. Please visit the website at www.w4w.org to take a look. Champions 4 Her Walk, Run & Festival makes television debut Our first Champions 4 Her Walk, Run & Festival television spots hit WAVE 3 TV in January. They are showing during multiple programs at a variety of times, but a recent highlight was during the Golden Globe Awards news release on January 13. Three spots were produced, each thirty seconds long, and the event was plugged at the end of each by Jackie Hayes and Dawn Gee. Also appearing in the ads on behalf of our beneficiary partners were the following: Louisville First Lady Madeline Abramson (Maryhurst), Jockey Pat Day (Mom’s Closet Resource Center), Tom Jurich (UofL Athletics) , Cathe Dykstra (Project Women), Terry Terrell (Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana), Stephanie Bateman (Women 4 Women), Lecia Brown (UofL volleyball player), Shirley Willihnganz (UofL Women’s Center), Khala Granville (UofL student), Janelle McDonald (Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana), Denise Troutman (The Center for Women & Families) and Joetta Perkins (West Louisville Girls Choir). We are excited about the energy these commercials are helping us to build for the big day in June and deeply appreciate WAVE 3 TV and Tandem Public Relations, both of whom helped by participating in their production. ![]() W4W received the Art of Excellence in Vision award at the Center for Nonprofit 2007 Annual conference held at the Galt House.
