About The BWISE Foundation

The BWISE Foundation was established in 2002 by Professional Engineer Sharon A. Harper. Harper is committed to helping expand the limited opportunities in engineering faced by minority women. BWISE’s mission is to increase in number the culturally responsible African-American females of slave descent who excel academically, and to help them succeed professionally, ultimately creating a positive impact on the community.

BWISE’s objectives are to stimulate and develop student interest in the various science, engineering and medical disciplines, and, in concert with educational institutions, corporations and other non-profit
entities, to help African-American females. In addition, BWISE mentors,
counsels and advises young women in their pursuit of professional
careers, and also provides financial aid and support through
scholarships and fellowships.

We're always eager to hear your ideas and concerns. Please contact us anytime at w4w@win.net or (502) 585-4649, ext.1019, or visit us on the web at www.w4w.org.
