Reminder: Golf tournament and luncheon coming up! Don't forget, our annual golf tournament is Monday, Aug. 28, at the Cardinal Club in Simpsonville. Also, this year's Women 4 Women luncheon will be on Tuesday, Sept. 12, and feature bestselling author Sheila Murray Bethel. The luncheon will be at the Galt House East Grand Ballroom, 140 N. Fourth St., from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $65 apiece; tables of eight are $500 and table sponsorships are $1,000. Metro Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh was again chair of the Repair Affair team. Women 4 Women partners with New Directions Housing Corp. on the event, which serves low-income, elderly and disabled woman homeowners. Repair Affair volunteers have now painted 30 homes! Many thanks to all planners and painters. In addition to Ward-Pugh, they were Linda Arnold, Steve Bowling, Ellen Call, Virginia Call, Kyle Sawyer-Dailey, Zan Sawyer-Dailey, Tamra Eifert, Grant Ethridge, Monica Francisco, Elizabeth Hatchett, Chuck Johnson, Sharon Landrum, Nancy Marcum, Paula Martin, Deb Moessner, Toni Mudd, Madeline Naegele, Kristen Penny, Shari Price, Laura Ryan, Joyce Seymour, Danielle Watts, Carolyn Weaver, Vet Winnette. W4W executive director recovering Women 4 Women Executive Director Ann Coffey loves mountain climbing, and recently scaled to the summit of Mt. McKinley--only to be injured in an accident on the way down, just as she was nearing the camp at 14,000 ft. Ann's leg was badly broken, but she has recovered from surgery and is beginning physical therapy. Ann hopes to be back in the office part-time in early July; in the meantime, she is handling Women 4 Women business from home with help from staff and volunteers.
