Volunteers Opportunities

Volunteering is the cornerstone of Women 4 Women and how we are able to accomplish our Bold Goals program of work. Below are the opportunities to volunteer for Women 4 Women.

Soon we will be adding other ways you can help improve our community for women and girls through volunteering with other organizations and programs. Thank you again for sharing your time and talent to make our community the kind of hometown we all want for everyone.

W4W Annual Luncheon Committee
The Annual Luncheon has been called the "premier luncheon for Louisville women and those who love them". About 1,500 community and business leaders (85% women) are in attendance to hear a fabulous speaker, network with each other and learn about the exciting work that Women 4 Women is doing in our community.

The primary role of the committee is to sell tables and sponsorships. Other activities include input on speaker selection, determining table decorations and giveaways.

The committee meets once a month from February to October. The lunchtime meeting (noon to 1:30 p.m.) is usually at Jewish Hospital Medical Center East, corner of Dutchmans and Breckenridge lanes.

Champions 4 Her Walk, Run and Festival
Women 4 Women’s newest event is scheduled for June 21, 2008.

Ten local organizations with missions to improve the status of girls, women and their families have joined together to create a community-wide, signature event to raise money and awareness. Partner groups are Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana, The Center for Women & Families, Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, Maryhurst, Mom's Closet Resource Center, Project Women, UofL Women's Athletics, UofL Women's Center and West Louisville Girls Choir.

Volunteer opportunities include positions to seek sponsorship and in-kind support, plan and conduct art activities for children, and working positions at the walk/run and the festival.

Repair Affair Painter 2008
Women 4 Women volunteers help paint the home of an elderly or disabled woman as part of New Directions’ Repair Affair.

The event is usually scheduled the third weekend in June.
