2010 Keynote speaker,
Sally Helgesen |
On Friday, September 17, 2010 Women 4 Women is hosting our Annual Luncheon at the Grand Ballroom, Galt House East. The keynote address will be given by Sally Helgesen, an internationally acclaimed author, speaker on women’s leadership, and consultant on leadership development.
Sally’s best-selling book The Female Advantage: Women's Ways of Leadership, was the first book to focus on what women have to contribute to organizations rather than how they need to change and adapt. Hailed as “the classic work” on the subject, it has been continually in print for 20 years, translated into 13 languages and is used in organizations and colleges around the world. Sally has taught at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Smith College, been a visiting scholar at Northwestern University, and has worked with The United Nations in Africa and Asia. Articles about her work have been featured in Fortune, Business Week, and Fast Company and she has appeared on hundreds of television and radio shows. Sally’s new book, The Female Vision: Women’s Real Power at Work, co-authored with Julie Johnson, explores the strategic implications of how women see the world. It will be published in June 2010.

New Finance 4 Her™ Partnership
On July 1, 2010 Mayor Jerry Abramson announced the new Bank On Louisville initiative to provide families meaningful access to institutions and banking services that will move them further up the economic ladder. It is estimated that 28,000 individuals in Louisville who use check cashing/money order services will each lose approximately $40,000 over a lifetime from transaction fees. This new program will help connect individuals and families to mainstream financial services, products and education such as Women 4 Women’s Finance 4 Her™ program.
